This is my 1st Colleen Hoover book and the only reason I picked this up was due to a read-a-thon challenge (read an author or genre that’s new to you). Boy am I glad I did. Ugly Love follows a woman named Tate who has just finished college but doesn’t have enough money to live on her own while she starts her 1st job. Enter helpful big brother lol he let’s her live with him until she can afford a place of her own. Of course he has friends one of whom sparks her interest.
Miles is attractive and a pilot who has no time for love but there is something about Tate. They make an agreement to have no strings attached sex. The only thing is Tate could not ask questions about his past and never expect a future.
Now I know y’all are thinking the same thing I was “this is gonna be another 50 shades” lol but it honestly wasn’t. Colleen Hoover has a way of make a book that you would think would be all about sex into a meaningful story. This book made me laugh, cry, broke my heart, and restored my faith in love. It was amazing, so amazing that as soon as I finished I bought another book by her. I would recommend this its a great read. I gave this book 5 stars.
I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy and dystopian novels so today when I went to my bookshelf for a book I wanted a lighter stand alone. I noticed this book has been on my shelf for 6 months and I had no idea what it was about other than The Designated Ugly Fat Friend. I figured why not give these 280pages a try. Needless to say I enjoyed it. The book follows 17 yr old Bianca in her last year of highschool after she’s just been told by the biggest womanizer in the school that she’s The Duff.
We get to see how this affects Bianca and her relationship with her 2 best friends Jessica and Casey, as well as some questionable behavior. Even though the book touches on some serious topics it was a very light hearted read that I finished in 1 sitting. I would recommend this to get over a book hang over or if you are like me and just want an easy enjoyable read. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. Happy Reading!!!!!
To begin with HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Ok now I just finished marathoning this series. I had Throne of Glass sitting on my Nook bookshelf forever and finally decided to see what all the hype was about. All I can say is why did I wait so long????? This is going to be a 6 book series with the 4th book set to be released this year.
Throne of Glass is the 1st book of the series and it is here where we introduced to a world under a tyrants rule. It follows the story of Celaena Sardothien who is…… Wait for it……. An assassin. She is in a prison (not your run of the mill American jails but a hard labor camp) and is offered release only if she agrees to compete to be the kings champion. Basically the tyrant that has destroyed the kingdom holds a competition in order to find a champion (personal assassin) to work for him. There is some romance, lots of action, plot twist, character growth, and just utter awesomeness. If this sounds interesting to you do not read any further go pick it up ASAP. I gave this first installment 5 out of 5.
Crown of Midnight is the 2n book in the series so obviously I can’t go into great detail without spoiling the 1st book. I can however say this book define gel lived up to the 1st. I didn’t find myself bored at any point. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you read the 1st book you really won’t need to be convinced to pick up the 2nd I’m telling you.
Heir of Fir is the 3rd book and ahhhhhh Sarah J Maas did it again. I’m not even sure how it’s possible but this book out did the other 2. We get new characters, more back story that helps understand the main characters, amazing world building, it is pure perfection!!!! I gave this book also 5 out of 5 stars but would if it wax possible give if 10 out of 5 stars. Go check this series out guys you won’t be disappointed. Happy Reading!!!!!!!
