The 5th Wave (Review)

I went into this book pretty skeptical and I actually put it down for about a week when I first started reading it. The 5th Wave takes place in what I perceive to be present day post alien landing. Yes I know Aliens…… I don’t do aliens (aside from Daemon Black in the Lux series lol). It’s told from the view point of teenage Cassie who is alone in the woods after the 1st four waves of alien attack.

Cassie thought pretty much like me so I was able to relate once I gave the novel a chance. When I think of alien invasion I think either they storm earth like humans storm a country or they simply live among us. Rick Yancey did an amazing job of having the reader learn about this new world and the events taking place with Cassie. I was piecing together the puzzle just as she was. The main rule of the novel is trust no one but can man kind survive isolated or us this a strategy of the aliens to divide conquer?

Well written and I am book 2 of this series to my list of books to read. I would suggest this novel if you like Sci fi or action that’s not completely overshadowed by a love story. I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. Happy Reading!!!!!

I love to read and to discover new books!!!
